On July the 30^{th Hilary Swank's is turning 36. This actress is one of Hollywood's finest and she has been awarded with two Oscars, one for her leading performance in 'Boys Don't Cry' and another for Million Dollar Baby.}

When she was only nine years old, 'The P.S. I Love You' star appeared in her first theater play as 'Mowgli' in 'The Jungle book'. She made her film debut in the original movie version of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' but her breakthrough came in 'The Next Karate Kid'. But the versatile actress has since then been very busy. Her filmography includes: Christopher Nolan's 'Insomnia' and Brian de Palma's 'The Black Dahlia amongst others.

In 1997 she married actor Chad Lowe, but they were divorced ten years later. This year Swank can be seen in 'Conviction', opposite Sam Rockwell.

'The Office' star Steve Carrell has signed on to his next comedy 'Raised by Wolfs'. Nothing is known about the script, only that the main character's surname is apparently Wolf. Carrell will also produce the film through his company, Carousel Productions.

More casting news as another star has supposedly joined a movie. 'Inception's Tom Hardy might be replacing Sam Worthington in 'This Means War'. The McG directed action/comedy will follow a couple of spies, Tom Hardy and 'Star Trek's Chris Pine who compete for the love of the same woman. Reese Witherspoon is already set to play that woman.

Even though director Michael Bay is currently filming 'Transformers 3'. The famous helmer still found time to pick up another film to produce. The project is as yet only known as a 'Confidential Alien Project'. A genre Armageddon's director is familiar with as he is also producing sci-fi action film 'I Am Number Four'.

And then there's another director who likes to produce films. 'X-Men the Last Stand' director Brett Ratner and his Rat. Entertainment have secured the rights to a comic book called 'The Unknowns' from Femme Fatales Comics. More details to follow.

Award winning actress Meryl Streep and comedy star Tina Fey are lined up for a new film named 'Mommy & Me'. The story will explore the dynamics between a mother and a daughter.

'The Lovely Bones' actor Stanley Tucci is set to direct the screenplay written by Joby Herald. Steve Buscemi is also on board as one of the producers. An on-screen collaberation between Streep and Tucci has proven successful in the past, with movies like 'The Devils Wears Prada' and 'Julie & Julia'. As yet, it's not known if the Oscar nominated actor/director plans to be involved in front of the camera as well.

At the end of this year, Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Fey voices a character in the animation film 'Megamind'. Tucci is a busy man with six upcoming projects, amongst which the romantic comedy 'Easy A' and the thriller 'Margin Call' alongside Kevin Spacey and Paul Bettany.

Director Guillermo Del Toro still has plenty of work to do even after leaving the ‘Hobbit’ project earlier this year. At the recent Comic Con event the ‘Hellboy’ director announced that he’ll be developing a ‘very strange’ adaptation of Pinocchio, and he also hinted at a chilling horror movie which takes us to the south-pole. What he didn’t say was, in order to make the film, he’ll be working with James Cameron.

According to Deadline, the ‘Avatar’ Director will be coming on board as a producer for the H.P. Lovecraft book adaption ‘At The Mountains Of Madness’.

The book that was originally published in 1936 tells the story of a scientific expedition to the South Pole, which, as they inevitably do, goes horribly wrong.

Director Del Toro, backed-up by producer Cameron, should start shooting in May next year.

Hollywood hot shot Leonardo DiCaprio has reportedly decided to drop out of Mel Gibson's planned Viking movie.

According to Radar Online, the 'Inception' star has left the project due to the 'Mad Max' actor recent headline hitting scandal, which include rage-fueled recordings, racist rants and domestic abuse.

Radar Online's source apparently added that there's no chance that Oscar nominee DiCaprio is still planning to work on the Gibson project and said that Leo has earned the right to pick and choose who he works with and Mel Gibson isn't one of them.

The 'Braveheart' star's ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva is accusing the Academy Award winner of beating her as she held their baby daughter Lucia. On the other hand, Gibson claims that Grigorieva is attempting to extort money from him.

Both parties deny the charges.

British actor Daniel Radcliffe, is convinced that the his upcoming role in the horror ‘The Woman in Black’ will free him from the shadow of ‘Harry Potter’. The 21-year-old played the role of young wizard ‘Potter’ for over a decade. He recently completed filming for the final installment, Harry Potter and the ‘Deathly Hallows: Part II’.

Already Radcliffe lined up numerous new projects, including a leading role in the spooky new adaptation of Susan Hill’s classic novel, ‘Woman in Black’ .

He says in an interview with the LA Times that it will be a challenge to look like a dad and a young father, but that if he gets it right, it will immediatly seperate him from Harry.

The movie will be the first new Hammer horror picture since the 1970s. Hammer Film Productions is the legendary British company responsible for classic movies including ‘The Curse of Frankenstein and ‘Dracula’. And Daniel is proud to be a part of that. He tells the Times ‘it’s wonderful to see that company, that name, in a resurgence’.

For Radcliffe, lets hope the name ‘Harry Potter’ will stop haunting him after this spooky movie.

British actress Rachel Weisz is afraid she may have lost her opportunity at ever playing in a Judd Apatow comedy. The filmmaker hasn’t called since the two met at a Hollywood party, and she drunkenly confessed a ‘passion for him’.

‘The Mummy’ star is a big fan of the ‘Superbad’ producer and has been desperately wanting to work on one of Apatow’s films for years.

But now the actress feels she made a fool of herself, and fears that she killed off the chance to work with him for good.

In the upcoming months she’ll have be busy enough though. The drama ‘The Whistleblower’ in which she stars alongside Monica Bellucci, is now in post-production and will be released later this year. ‘Dream House’, a thriller with Daniel Craig, is also in the last phase of production. Dream House is planned to premiere next year.

Edith Vogelhut, former model and Glamour magazine editor, alleged that in 1974, she willingly went with Polanski to the actor Jack Nicholson's house, and planned on having sex with the director there. But she was shocked when Polanski apparently placed handcuffs on her and abused her repeatedly.

The alleged victim, who was only 21 years old at the time, remained silent for all those years, due to the humiliation. She says that she was motivated to finally come forward by another alleged victim, 'The Golden Child' actress Charlotte Lewis. Lewis claimed in May that Polanski molested her when she was only 16 years old.

Polanski was convicted in the U.S. of raping a 13-year-old girl back in 1977. He fled the country before sentencing, and U.S. authorities recently failed in an attempt to extradite him from Switzerland.

'High School Musical' hunk Zac Efron is on the verge of closing deals to star in two new films 'Die in a Gunfight' and 'The Lucky One'.

Efron has appeared in several movies such as '17 Again' and recently 'Me and Orson Welles'. His new film 'Charlie St. Cloud' will be released this summer.

According to Deadline Hollywood, the young actor could play a young New Yorker, who falls in love with the daughter of his father's nemesis in 'Die in a Gunfight'.

In 'The Lucky One', the Hollywood actor may be portraying a soldier, who returns from Iraq with a picture of a girl who became his good luck charm. He seeks out the girl and they develop a relationship. This project will serve as a screen adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' novel of the same name. Other successful film adaptations of his books include: 'Message in a Bottle', 'The Notebook' and 'Dear John' amongst others.

'The Lucky One' is set for release in 2012.
