Apparently High School Musical star Zac Efron is growing up really fast, and is now eager to play the leading role in a thriller.

Although the story of this untitled project is kept under wraps, industry insiders are calling the film a “sexy thriller”. The script is being written at the moment by Leslie Dixon, who has earlier penned the screenplays for the thriller The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) and the musical Hairspray (2007). No director is yet on board, but surely that will be only matter of time.

The 21-year old heartthrob Zac Efron is one of the hottest leading men in Hollywood at the moment. His most recent film was the fantasy comedy 17 Again, which has taken in more than $120 million at the box office worldwide; a very good result for a medium-budget Hollywood film.
