After the award-winning drama The Curious Case of Benjamin Button director David Fincher has set his sights on a film about Facebook.
Hollywood studio Columbia Pictures is apparently in advanced talks with David Fincher to direct The Social Network. This new drama will focus on the evolution of the website Facebook, from its 2004 creation on the Harvard campus by sophomore Mark Zuckerberg to a widespread phenomenon with more than 200 million members. The script is still being written by Aaron Sorkin, known for more politically-charged fare like Charlie Wilson’s War and the much-praised television series The West Wing. Columbia Pictures aims to begin production at the end of this year.
